Gilded bronze doors by Lorenzo Ghiberti, known as the Gates of Paradise. These are actually reproductions, placed in 1990 after it was determined that the originals were deteriorating. The originals are housed nearby in the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo, each panel preserved in a special glass container.
